This year the Sandy Creek/Lacona booth at the fair includes information on the “Doctor’s of Sandy Creek/Lacona” book we are busy researching with an expected publication date of 2015. We are lucky to have information in the files researched by past historians and the Sandy Creek News as a starting place. Nanette Hamer, Pauline Tanner and Betty Hollis researched the doctors they remembered and thanks to researcher extraordinaire, Phyllis LeBeau, the book is off to a good start. The research continues and we have uncovered some great information!

Also included in the fair booth is information on past fairs, Sandy Pond, local farms and free brochures on the Woodlawn Walking Tour, Sandy Creek history timelines and research materials to be found at the History Center. We only have so much room for displays so stop by the office any Friday or call for an appointment to look through our history files or photographs.
